PiThrow is an annual engineering charity event held annually around the 14th day of March (3.14) and has raised close to fifty thousand dollars for various charities since 1993.
For three days, anyone in Saskatoon Saskatchewan has the option to donate $10 for a whipped cream topped lemon pie that gets sent to a person of their choice. When the pie is delivered, it can be redirected for $10, bought outright for $20 to stop the pie from circulating, or delivered to the recipient's face. Students are encouraged to participate if they so choose, but are not required to do so.
This year, Pi Throw has been planned for March 14-16, 2018. The charity being supported this year is the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation.
